What is a Moissanite?
MOISSANITE IS A CREATED JEWEL THAT WAS BORN FROM A RARE GEOLOGICAL FIND MADE MORE THAN 110 YEARS AGO.  IT WAS DISCOVERED FROM A METEOR CRATER LOCATED IN CANYON DIABLO, ARIZONA BY DR. HENRI MOISSAN IN 1893.  AT FIRST, HE MISTAKENLY IDENTIFIED THEM AS DIAMONDS, BUT IN 1904 HE IDENTIFIED THEM AS SILICON CARBIDE.  

Silicon carbide is rarely naturally produced by the earth and is found more abundantly around meteor crates.  

*De Beers were the first to market the diamond industry beginning in 1888.
